Escondido's Public Art Commission decided that all three artists still in the running for the Grand Avenue roundabout art project will each be asked to provide a description with a single rendering and a list of what is important to make the project authentically Escondido. Chair Spann made the motion, Commissioner Kelleher seconded it, and it was approved 6-0, with Commissioner Ovanesoff absent.

Staff had asked the commission to give direction on which of the top three artists should move forward in the process, based on the outcome of the artist interviews and public input. Sandra Aguilar, a management analyst, presented the item. Rather than pick one, the commission asked all three for the added material. The record does not say what the artwork will cost, when the three artists must turn in their descriptions and renderings, or when one of them will finally be chosen.
