Escondido's City Council is being asked to approve another year of landscape maintenance work by Makelele Systems Landscape & Maintenance, Inc., at a cost of $282,864 for the 2027 budget year. The request would have the Mayor sign a fourth amendment to the city's existing services agreement with the company, on behalf of the city and the Escondido Landscape Maintenance Districts. Approving it means adopting Resolution No. 2026-52.
The extra year of service would run under the same terms as the original agreement. On top of that maintenance amount, the request adds $100,000 that was already set aside in the budget for landscape repairs, meant to cover work that is needed now as well as work that has been put off.
