The Escondido City Council approved a project called Valley Parkway Townhomes, clearing the way for 94 multi-family homes to be built on the property.
The council's approval came in a single vote of 5-0. Councilmember Fitzgerald made the motion and Councilmember White seconded it.
The approval was made up of several separate actions. The council adopted Ordinance No. 2026-12, a Planned Development Permit that allows homes on the ground floor of the property. It also adopted Resolution No. 2026-86, which combines two existing lots into a single lot, allows the homes to be sold as condominium units, and grants a Design Review Permit for the construction of the 94 units.
