Natasha Paremski Opens the 2026–2027 Season We open the 2026-2027 Intimate Classics season with pianist Natasha Paremski, an artistknown for the power, intensity, and remarkable technical command of her performances. Born in Moscow, Paremski moved to the United States at the age of eight and made her Los Angeles Philharmonic debut at just fifteen. She has since appeared with major orchestras including the San Francisco Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and San Diego Symphony, and in recital at such venues as Wigmore Hall and the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris. Her program opens with selections from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, followed by Chopin’s Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor, a work that ranges from turbulent drama and lyricism to the famous Funeral March and its extraordinary final movement. The concert concludes with Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, inspired by an exhibition of works by the composer’s friend Viktor Hartmann. Its succession of vividly contrasting scenes leads to the monumental Great Gate of Kyiv. Paremski recorded the work for Steinway & Sons in 2019.
