Buy Tickets Venue: Concert Hall Art Studio (across the hall from the museum near the Concert Hall driveway) Kintsugi Workshop Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese technique of repairing ceramics with gold. In Japanese Zen aesthetics, broken bowls and dishes should continue to attract our respect and attention. The broken pieces are reassembled and glued back together with a lacquer infused with gold powder. The breaks are not hidden, but instead transformed into something artful. Kintsugi is also a powerful metaphor for life—we all experience difficulties and traumas, and this practice encourages us to embrace, rather than conceal, our so-called cracks and imperfections. Participants are welcome to bring in their own piece for review. While we may not have time to repair personal items during class, Luis will provide insight and guidance for how to proceed at home.
